Consultant- Learning and Development Specialist

About the Role:

As a learning and development specialist in the Change Management and Learning Development practice area, your day-to-day role as a NYSTEC consultant will include analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating innovative learning solutions. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a consultative approach to developing, implementing, and evaluating dynamic and impactful learning.

Key Responsibilities

The learning and development specialist will coordinate with change management specialists and project managers to:

  • Develop training needs assessments and learning plans, using best practices in adult learning theory.
  • Author instructional design materials, such as software simulations, interactive on-demand tutorials, electronic user guides, and other materials that are engaging and learner-centric.
  • Provide quality assessments of instructional design materials to ensure that they meet the NYSTEC standards for quality.
  • Inform and provide support for the development, delivery, and management of training by leveraging information gathered through stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Facilitate live, virtual training sessions, ensuring an interactive and impactful experience for learners.

About you:

Required Qualifications

  • Experience supporting the design, development, delivery, and management of effective communications between project team and stakeholders.
  • Leveraging tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or Microsoft Office suite to design and develop communications materials.
  • Experience providing learning management system administrative support.

Preferred/Desired Qualifications

  • Proficiency in instructional design authoring tools, such as Articulate 360.
  • Knowledge of instructional design theory, adult learning principles, traditional and modern training methods, tools and best practices.
  • Familiarity with learning management system administration.
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences.

Education and Experience

  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline and one-three years of related experience.
  • An equivalent combination of advanced education, training, and experience will be considered.

The pay range for this position is $60,406.00 to $82,959.80 per year.
